We aim to be more than just a pub. We currently host debates and lectures on some of the most difficult political, moral and scientific subjects of our time.
These debates and lectures are free and provided for people who have a specific knowledge or interest in the area being discussed. However, our aim is to do more than just talk. We want to provide a friendly forum for discussion but we also to be an instrument of change within Britain and the world.

Our Vision.
We arrange regular debates and lectures on legal political economical and social issues which we feel are important and of interest to a wide audience. We wish to play our part in creating a more informed rational just and sustainable world. We wish to educate ourselves as well as others.
We believe that the views of people with genuine expertise or knowledge of a subject are worth listening to and should help shape national and international policy. But those people should face searching and hard questions from others who are knowledgeable and interested in a subject.
Our Purpose.
We wish lectures and debates to be passionate persuasive and respectful but free from personal rancour and point scoring.
We wish to foster strong links with the leading universities and to support through our charity the Sekforde House Trust students of exceptional ability. We hope to help bridge a gap between academic research and implementing practical solutions to the many problems our world faces.
